About SLRE

The organization known as Sustainable Living and Renewable Energy Roundup (SLRE) is an educational non-profit that holds several educational events throughout the year including a Green Living Fest every September.  

Our mission is to promote sustainable practices, renewable energy use, and environmental responsibility in the way we work, play, and live.

SLRE was started in late 2006 by a group of people who wanted to promote sustainable living.  Now in our fifth year, we are still a volunteer-run, educational non-profit working to inform and empower people in order to build a more sustainable community.  Every year, we sponsor a green living festival in Gardnerville, NV to share information about gardening, alternative energy, eating healthy and living better.  We enjoy bringing local businesses, organizations and community members together to learn from each other.  Consider getting involved!

The next Green Living Fest will be Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Lampe Park in Gardnerville, NV.

The event includes informational workshops, exhibits and an interactive Discovery Center with fun activities for kids -  making smoothies with the bike blender, baking in solar ovens, activities by Master Gardeners and the Great Basin Outdoor School.The event is free to the public.  We hope you will join us!  The workshop schedule is available on our Fest Info - Workshops page.  If you would like to help with the planning of the event, go to the volunteer page.
